Our objective is for our middle school students to continue developing a real thirst for learning within an environment which will promote their self-confidence and allow them to reach their full academic potential.
Our highly experienced specialist teachers and small class sizes ensure individual attention, excellence in teaching and enjoyment of learning.
Our classes are structured as multi-age, multi-level groups which offer rich group work opportunities for all.
With a maximum staff/pupil ratio of 1:15 and an average class size of 10, we offer ideal learning conditions for each young person to thrive and reach their maximum potential.
Learning relies deeply on student involvement and is very participative rather than strictly teacher led.
Malherbe International Secondary School offers a truly bilingual instruction, with roughly 30% French and 60% English. Students also study Spanish as a new foreign language.
We follow the English national curriculum as a baseline for most subjects, such as Mathematics, Science and English language & literature; and the French national curriculum for French language and literature as well as History and Geography.
The program aims to prepare our international students for the iGCSE exams in Year 10/11 as well as making for an easy transition to a more French environment for the families who are aiming for a French/bilingual High School.
