Key Stage 2 Trip to Surrey

Enjoying the sunset

Our Key Stage 2 classes enjoyed an incredible trip to Surrey, England in April. Staying at Juniper Hall next to the small town of Mickleham, they enjoyed a variety of outdoor learning activities organized through the Field Studies Council.

Activities included:

  • Learning about what mini-beasts live in ponds by categorizing them and then observing them under a microscope
  • An evening walk to explore the local surroundings and learn about the tower at the top of the hill
  • Learning how to survive in the wilderness, by building water and wind resistant shelters as well as learning how to start a fire
  • Many team games to kee active and develop communication skills

The students also went on a one-day field trip to London where they visited the British museum and went to a matinée performance of the musical Oliver! before taking the train back to the beautiful hilly area of Boxhill.
