Malherbe International School was founded in 1990. For the past 35 years, our aim has been to offer our students the opportunity to pursue academic excellence and bilingualism within a supportive environment which values each child’s well-being and personal development.
MIS is located in the beautiful town of Le Vésinet, in the Yvelines (78) region, easily accessible from Paris by public transportation, along the RER A train line.
The school offers a rich cultural environment with approximately 160 students and over 25 nationalities. We welcome children between 2 and 11 years old. They attain high standards of performance within a family-like nurturing environment. We offer students a bespoke learning experience within small classes of 12-15 students per class where each child’s thirst for learning can be nurtured.
During the past 35 years, our ability to combine both French and English teaching techniques has enabled our pupils to move on to further education worldwide and adapt successfully as confident young learners.

Our nursery and pre-primary classes are Montessori based and children are accepted at 2 years of age. Classes are taught in English, with optional French lessons during the school day for our 3 and 4 year old French learners. Students also have weekly music and sports lessons taught in French. The average class size is of 12-15 students, allowing children to develop their academic and social skills with the personalised guidance of our teachers.
Our Primary classes offer an ideal setting for high educational achievement with our small class sizes and individualised teaching. The educational program is based on the English National curriculum. French is taught as an integral part of our academic program from 5 years of age. There are two half days of classes from dedicated French teachers. An extra half-day of French is included for our upper primary students during which they are exposed to French history and French mathematics methods. We are able to welcome students who do not yet master French or English, putting in place a dedicated immersion program for them to quickly acquire their new language skills and pursue a bilingual education.
Our Wednesday Program welcomes English-speaking children who are currently enrolled in other schools (public French school, international sections etc..). Students can attend classes on Wednesdays for a half-day or full-day to continue practicing their English literacy skills in a full immersion context.
We offer a Spanish section for Spanish speaking children from 3 to 5 years. Classes are held on Wednesdays from 9am to 4pm, and are open to both students of MIS and students of other schools.
