We were extremely glad to once again be able to invite parents to our Young Authors Award ceremony on April 20th, 2022!
Students in all Primary classes, from Year 1 to Year 6, spent the last half-term planning and drafting their own original narratives for our internal writing competition.
The writing process is spread over several weeks, providing the students with the opportunity to apply the skills taught in class. Once the stories are finished, the children type them up, and illustrate their final copy, making beautiful front and back covers including an “About the Author ” page and a synopsis.
Stories are then judged by a committee of teachers who select the winning pieces at the final award ceremony.
The writing pieces are also submitted to the Young Authors Fiction Festival held by the American Library of Paris.
